Yesterday in the final game of the series at Tropicana field the Yankees defeated the Rays by the score of 4-3. Andy Pettitte pitched fairly well for the Yankees, only allowing three runs in seven plus innings of work. Robinson Cano was the key contributor in the game because of his two run homer in the forth inning. The Rays kept the game close but the Yankees were just too much for them to handle. Brian Bruney picked up the win after only getting two outs and Mariano Rivera got his second save of the season. Overall it was a pretty good game for the Yankees and they improved their record to 5-4 on the season.
Later today the New York Yankees will have their first official game at the new Yankee Stadium against the Cleveland Indians. That game is going to be very exciting and the Bronx Bombers will be hoping to do what their New York counterpart could not, get a win in their first game. The pitching match up has Cliff Lee on the hill for the Indians against Yankees ace C.C. Sabathia.
