The New York Yankees could not complete the sweep of the Kansas City Royals yesterday at Kaufman Stadium. The Royals beat the Bronx Bombers by the score of 6-4. Joba Chamberlain pitched great for the Yankees only allowing one earned run over six innings, but the bullpen blew it. Reliever Phil Coke got the loss after allowing two runs in the bottom of the eighth. This was a game that the Yankees will definitely forget, but they did see great things out of Joba Chamberlain, so it wasn’t all completely bad.
In their next series the Yankees face off against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. After this three game set the Yankees come back home to the Bronx to open the New Yankee Stadium. The pitching match up for tonight’s game features Chin Ming Wang for the Yankees versus Scott Kazmir of the Rays. The Yankees will be looking to bounce back and get a win against the tough Rays.
