The New York Yankees are now on a three game winning streak and have quieted the doubters (at least for now). Yesterday they played the Kansas City Royals in the second of the three game series and won 6-1. C.C. Sabathia pitched great, allowing one earned run during 7 2/3 innings of work. Both Nick Swisher and Jorge Posada have been on fire as of late. As Yankee fans we know that Swisher is good since he has already earned a John Sterling nickname, “Good old Saint Nick”. In the game he went two for three with three RBI. Posada went two for five with three RBI as well. Overall this game was exactly what was expected of the Yankees, solid starting pitching with good run support.
Later today the Bronx Bombers go for the sweep of the Kansas City Royals. The pitching match up features Joba Chamberlain for the Yankees versus Gil Meche for the Royals. Today will be Joba’s first start of the season and we will see how he performs. On the other hand, the Royals ace Gil Meche will be on the mound today and he is going for his first win of the season. After today’s game the New York Yankees should be on a four game winning streak.
