Yesterday, the New York Yankees won their first game of the season. They beat the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 11-2. It was a great day for the Yankees new free agent signings, Mark Texiera hit his first home run and A.J. Burnett got his first win. The Bronx Bombers played fairly well and they beat a team in the Orioles who never got their offense going. Burnett had a solid outing pitching 5 1/3 innings, struck out six batters and only let up two runs. Yankee fans are hoping to see more of this play as the season continues. The Yankees begin a three game series with the Kansas City Royals in Kaufman Stadium later today. The pitching match up features Andy Pettitte for the Yankees against Sidney Ponson for the Royals. The Yankees will be hoping to have a two game winning streak after this game.
