The team with the highest payroll in all of Major League Baseball did not start off on the right foot this afternoon. The New York Yankees lost to the Baltimore Orioles 10-5 at Camden Yards. Their new ace C.C. Sabbathia could not find the strike zone in his 4.1 innings of work. He also let up six runs in a game he will surely forget. The Yankees Captain, Derek Jeter had a solid opening day going 3-5. Second year manager Joe Girardi used his bullpen heavily today in trying to get a win but it just didn’t happen. Since C.C. was taken out so early in the game Joe had no other option.
The Yankees will not be playing tomorrow but they will play the Orioles again on Wednesday at 7:05. The pitching match up features Chin Ming Wang against Koji Uehara. Yankee fans will be hoping their team can bounce back and get a win in their next game.
